Due to the reduction of the Office of the Public Guardians performing costs, an excess of \u00a389m was identified through Lasting Power of Attorney fee overpayments between the 1st of April 2013 and the 31st of March 2017.
\nDuring this time the Lasting Power of Attorney applications fees were not amended. It is estimated that up to 1.8m individuals are disadvantaged from the overpayment.
